Project Architect
Primary Function
Responsible for the overall development and implementation of architectural projects from schematics through construction administration.
Education and Experience
-
Licensed Architect (prefer State of California) with minimum 8 years of experience in the architectural profession desired.

Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience at the Project Architect level and experience through all phases.

Strong problem-solving, listening and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage tasks against deadlines.

Extensive experience with consultant coordination.

Experience with leading a project team and capable of detailing and producing fully coordinated construction documents in AutoCAD/Revit with minimal supervision.

Construction Administration experience (process submittals, RFIs, substitution requests, etc.) with direct coordination with contractors and consultants.

Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project.

Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible.
-
Ability to work well with others under deadline situations.
Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate with the Principal Designer to ensure compliance with client objectives, project budget(s), applicable codes and construction norms.

Ensure all documents conform to applicable codes and standards, including office standards.

Produce detailed construction documents.

Manage project team including client and consultant team from conceptual design through construction.

Prepare detailed technical drawings and coordinate with the consultants team to produce a complete set of construction documents including details and specifications for bidding and construction.

Review construction documents for quality control.

Coordinate and run project meetings, record and distribute meeting minutes.

Maintain project schedule and project budget.

Coordinate with contractor during construction phases of projects, conduct site visits, process submittals and RFIs during construction.

Coordinate with contractor and project team to resolve issues that may come up during construction. Liaison with building officials during project permitting and construction phases.

May supervise or mentor Job Captain(s) and be assisted by Junior Designers.
