ALL GODS CREATURES

EL CAJON,CALIFORNIA

All God’s Creatures is envisioned as the first phase of a campus to include state-of-the-art general and specialized veterinary services, veterinary technician training (on-site and online), service dog training, spay and neuter services and other community-serving veterinary-related services.

Working with an existing old and worn tire and brake store, improvements were kept within the existing building envelope to avoid onerous City reviews, requirements, and fees. The facility has human-healthcare level mechanical systems to provide pathogen-controlled filtering and high levels of fresh air. Human healthcare design considerations were given to the Operating Room to support the specialized surgical services being provided.

In contrast to the ubiquitous corporate veterinary hospital model, this diminutive facility provides personal, almost “old school” services to their clients and patients. Designer Evelyn Avinante ASID, CID, uses cheerful, bright colors to give the facility a presence to the community and the busy street. Fresh, nurturing colors throughout the interior of the facility provide a relaxing,  yet professional environment for clients and staff. A mural developed with acclaimed artist Dean Russo, provides a graphic identity illustrating the respect and love that ownership and staff show for their work, their patients and their facility.
